Frequently Asked Questions

What exactly is health coaching?

At Humble Hustle, health coaching means identifying a client’s goals and helping them identify small, sustainable steps toward meeting them. Your plan is your plan; your goals are your goals. Your coach’s job is to hold you accountable (with kindness and compassion, naturally).

What does health coaching look like?

  1. Introduction Call. You’ll meet in-person or on the phone with your health coach to discuss goals. Together we will determine if we are a good fit.

  2. Follow-up call. Your coach will lead you through an exercise that gets you thinking bigger picture and “why” you want to change your habits.

  3. Goal setting call (10 minutes, weekly). At the beginning of the week, we’ll set your weekly focus and you’ll be off and running!

  4. Accountability call (5 minutes, weekly). Later in the week, we’ll discuss how the week is going and reassess our focus if needed. Simple and effective!

Why do we call it health coaching and not nutrition coaching?

Nutrition plays an important role in wellness. However, that is just part of the picture. For example, getting good sleep and drinking lots of water are hugely important to your overall health.

What should I expect to focus on in health coaching?

We help people build confidence by consistently working to develop habits in the following categories, in no particular order:

  1. Hydration

  2. Diet

  3. Exercise

  4. Sleep

  5. Mindfulness

  6. Growth

By building balance across these pillars creates a firm foundation from which to grow.

What do you mean by “sustainable change”?

Our Health Coaching program focuses on building healthy habits. We start small; like, really small. So small that some of our first weeks seem almost insignificant.

The process is simple: choose just one place to focus each week. Pick something that you can do 90-100% of the time, without fail. We will only move on to the next goal when this is a habit and that you feel good about handling more.

I’d prefer to work with a coach that’s the same gender as me. Can I make that request?

Absolutely! Please let us know what’s most important to you in terms of a health coach. We will help you find the right match.

What if I don’t feel a connection with my health coach? Can I change to a new one?

The relationship between coach and client is important. If you’re not feeling it, we get it. We will help you find the right match.

I do not want to be weighed. Is this a problem?

Not a problem at all. Our main barometer for success is how you feel, not an arbitrary number on a scale. Talk to your coach about any reservations you may have— the whole point is to build a plan that works for you!

Why do you not take before and after photos?

A lot of health coaches depend on dramatic before and after photos of clients to showcase their “successes”. We don’t like that approach. First of all, while you may look different after a few months of health coaching, our goal is to first change how you feel.

We know looking a certain way does not necessarily correlate to health. You can be healthy or unhealthy in any size or shape body.

What happens if I go on vacation, or let things slide over the holidays or summer?

Life happens! Even if you get off track (hello, vacations and the holidays!), our approach to building small habits over time means you don’t have to start over again. You just pick up where you left off.

Couldn’t I just do this on my own?

Sure. But since it’s so “easy,” and something you could do on your own, most of us don’t. We’re here to help you decide what to focus on, get you going, and to keep you accountable every single week

I don’t live in Minneapolis. Can this be done remotely?

Of course! Many of our clients live out of state. If you have a phone, you’re good to go.

What’s this going to cost me?

Our Health Coaching program begins at $160/month, no commitment or hidden fees involved!
