Raise your hand if you promised yourself you’d go to bed early… only to stay up waaaay past your bedtime because HBO is just so good at making binge television?
Or you meant to eat a salad for a dinner, got too hungry and made a frozen pizza. Couldn’t resist that nightly bowl of ice cream, glass of wine (or two). And slept through your alarm. Again.

What seems hard now will be easier later. We call the point where things become easier “building your firm foundation.”
Think of it this way: when you do the hard things right now occasionally (working out, eating healthy, going to bed instead of binge watching tv), it seems to have no effect. You don’t eat one salad and boom, your skin glows, your energy surges, your belly bloat goes bye-bye. This can feel disheartening.
But if you take the time to build a firm foundation, aka better habits, the reverse is true.
When you exercise regularly, eat foods that fuel you, stay hydrated, get good quality sleep, the times where you reach for the pizza, stay out late, veg out on the couch, they don’t affect you like they do now and you are able to bounce back quickly (most likely the next day).

Once your firm foundation is built, it’s freeing. Little things don’t deter you; the confidence and conviction YOU have built are your roadmap moving forward. You don’t have to be perfect, which is the best part of our program and what makes it sustainable.
Once you build HEALTHY HABITS, those habits stay with you. You might have seasons where your focus isn’t as intense in some areas as they once where (hello, daily exercise with a newborn), but when you develop a habit, you can much more easily toggle that switch back on when you’re ready. It’s not like starting over.
What happens once you’ve built a Firm Foundation?
A firm foundation equips you with the tools to keep building. What’s next can go in many directions:
You can step out and try it on your own. Maybe you don’t need the weekly check-ins anymore. Great! This is our ultimate goal: for you to leave the nest and do it on your own. Your health coach will be happy to discuss this when they think you’re ready, or you can bring it up with them.
Some folks want to continue stacking on new habits. Maybe you’ve developed new goals you need help reaching and could use some further accountability. Great, let’s do it!
A mix of the two— some clients have tried thing on their own and after a time need a quick refresher for jumping back in, re-focusing and getting back in the groove with their habits. We’re always here for you.

A firm foundation is not about perfection, or creating a rigid template.
